Help Webtop keeps going to Mirror/Mobile View on startup

This is on an Atrix 2 with Lapdock 100 on T-Mobile with ICS and Webtop 3.0. Everything I hook the phone up to the Lapdock, Webtop comes up for a second, then, it goes into Mirror/Mobile View with no way to switch back to Webtop. I've turned the phone off and on again, nothing, then, I pulled the battery, and again, no difference. I did see on a post somewhere that they had issues with the ICS download, and they had to do a factory reset, and all is well. Does anyone thing this might be the solution for this? Thanks!

It's worth a shot, just make sure you backup your data first.

Are you rooted or anything? It could be an app causing the issue?

I have heard somewhere that an app could do that, but I never heard which app or kind off app would do it. Is there a way I could narrow it down? Just for the record, I've changed to Straight Talk, the AT&T network, and the Atrix is not rooted. I would like to try everything I could before resetting the phone. Would resetting the phone wipe out ICS, and it would go back to Gingerbread? Thanks!

Ok, found where the problem happens, not sure where to go from here! I did the Factory Data Reset, then, hooked the phone to the Lapdock. Webtop booted just fine and stayed in Webtop mode. Now, I have Straight Talk/AT&T, so, before I could get internet, I have to make a new APN with ST's settings. That was done, then, again, I hooked up the phone to the Lapdock. I had Webtop for a few seconds, then, it went back into Mirror Mode, which is exactly what it was doing before. So, the problem seems to be the new APN settings. Does anyone that has an Atrix 2 with Straight Talk have the same issue that I'm having with Webtop, an, if so, where you able to come up with a fix? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Jerry

I don't have a lapdock. It's on my Christmas list. :p

Can you change the APN while using the lapdock?

Maybe deleting the old APN's would work, or is causing the issue? I don't see how the APN could cause this, but I dont have a real answer since I have no knowledge of webtop yet.

I will try that, I think the old APN's are in there still. Thanks! I don't have a clue why that would cause my problem either, doesn't make sense!!

I just tried to delete the old APN's, but, it doesn't give me the option to delete, just the Straight Talk APN that I created.

Thanks, Skearton!! That will take care of the Entitlement Check issue as well as get the Wifi Hot Spot working!!Thanks alot!!! Now, I just have to be at a computer that I can print that info so I can refer to it as I'm working on this. Why in the world didn't this come up on my web searches!?

Jerry

Well, thanks to Skearton, I was able to root my Atrix, got the "Entitlement Check", Wifi Hot Spot working, AND the Webtop is working!! Thanks again so much!!

If you have a wireless printer, our phone may print to it. I have a $50 hp and print works well.

Let me know if it works. :)

I did see the printer option on the phone, and that did get me thinking of getting a wireless printer. I'm replacing my wife's 8 year old desktop for a laptop this Christmas, and my daughter already has a laptop, so, it would make sense. I'm going to get a Lapdock 500 and a 1TB external hard drive, and make that my home computer. The 100 is fine for being mobile, but, I would like a bigger screen for home use. Thanks again, I really like the Webtop 3.0, I didn't even have much time to play with Webtop 2.0 before I upgraded.
