Weird Android Game

Hi, I am following a course in entrepreneurship and could really use some help from lead users.

The issue: I am a part of a group that is convinced that people would be willing to play an android game of the following form: You compete with others in not using your phone! The idea of the game is to decrease the use of your phone through social benchmarking.

Please! Tell me I am not the only who sees this idea as idiotic?

Your opinion will be much appreciated,

And no sense was made in that idea.

Basically, you are being asked to play a game but to gain a positive outcome you don't play it by not using your phone? It's like being told, have some oxygen but to win the game you aren't allowed to breathe it.

Is this some sort of app in the works or an actual android app, or just a game such as, "let's see who can stand on one leg the longest" sort of game?

Not in the works. It should probably be seen as an actual app that people want to keep on their phone as an ongoing monitoring like "stand on one leg the longest type" game
 
I don't see a game like that becoming very popular, but since it's a competition I'm sure a few people would try it.

You'd have better chances with a game people would actually play.
 
I'm confused. So this is a game that you play on your cell phone, but idea is you don't use your cellphone. So how you supposed to play the game?
