weird charging issue

So my car charger quit charging my phone unless I add a usb cable to the 2nd charging port. I bought a new charger and have the same issue. Ive tried both outlets in my car.

Any suggestions

Try a charger made by a different company. The 2 slots should be independent.

What is the output of the charger you are using? It should be at least 5 watts, or 1 amp. I've charged with 850 mA, but the stock wall charger is 1.2 amp, so I'd try to get as close to that or higher. Those two on Moto's site are 2 amp/10 watt chargers, so they'll do.

The new one is a Verizon branded charger. To clarify the main cable attached to the charger wont charge the phone. If I add a usb cable to the 2nd connection and use that cable, the phone charges.

I'd just use that cable. I think I have a charger like that, and I just attached a cable to the USB port rather than use the curly cable. Now I just use a charger with two USB ports.
