Help weird data "problem"

so lately ive noticed that my admire likes to tease me with the signal. i usually have two bars and that's fine for me really but ive noticed that when i leave my phone for awhile and come back to it later it will have FULL bars but within seconds of using it, the bars fall back to two lol. Even with one 2 bars though im able to SOMETIMES get Download speeds of 1.1Mbps, Upload speed of .74 and Ping 196 ms. i just fine that strange somehow, any comments?

it also seems that the less bars I have with EDVO only mode instead of hybrid the better my 3G speeds are

It is a little trick on it...Also sometimes on EVDO your phone tries to adapt to the 4G frequency so it might get slowly faster depending on area
