I use an audio recording app (ASR) to record MP3 files in the Recordings folder. After I make a recording, the file immediately appears in the phone's file manager as it should.
But when I connect to my Vista laptop (or XP desktop) to transfer the file from the phone, the new file takes hours or longer to show up in that folder. (My most recent recording from 28 hours ago has yet to appear.) Old recordings show up fine, and once the new recording shows up, I have no problems with it.
So far, this seems to happen only with the files created by ASR, and it happens all the time. But a file should be a file regardless of what app created it, especially if it shows up on the phone's file manager.
What is going on? Does Android use a different file system when connecting via the USB port? If so, how can I get it to sync right away? (I've tried forcing the folder to refresh on Windows, but no joy.)
I'm using the current Android version (4.1.2).
