Weird old message problem

Hi there, i've encountered a strange problem while texting...I have a ZTE Racer II and running Android 2.2.2

I recieved a picture message in a conversation thread, however underneath is was a message (from myself apparently) that i had not written and was in "sending" mode.....i hadn't opened the message straight away so the message was probably "sending" for a good few minutes.

I think the message might have been an old message from maybe 3-4 months ago that i had sent the same contact, i decided to delete the message as it was still sending, it seemed stuck...

I'm just wondering why this issue arose, and is there any chance the message actually sent even after i deleted it?

Hey sorry just an update, i received another picture message at 16.26 today and another old message sent out at exactly the same time to the same contact as before.....

I really dont know what to do, the two issues are clearly linked and i have been onto my provider but they say nothing is wrong on their side and the issue is with the phone, does anyone have an idea?
