Help Weird problem or goosed phone

Having problems with the speaker on my S3 and hoping for some help. Phone has been working perfectly, no issues. Bought a new in car phone holder that also contains two 2.1 amp USB charger sockets. As I could now have the phone constantly on charge whilst driving I thought I would give the maps app an extended try out and also downloaded an app called cameralert that warns you when approaching "Safety cameras", nothing to do with speed, to be honest I get bored when I don't have any techy stuff to mess about with so this was just another case of l'll try this for a few days to see what it can do. Anyway, worked perfect for a short time but then when speaking directions the sound from the phone speaker suddenly cut off. Tried reboot, battery pull, battery left out overnight and finally a hard reset but still no sound from the speaker. This lasted for a couple of days and then last night the sound just suddenly started working again. So, being the fool that I am, I thought I want to see if the problem was caused by my new phone holder/charger or possibly by maps. ( I had uninstalled the cameralert app). So plugged the phone back in, set a destination in maps and got about two lines of directions out of the phone before the speaker cut out again. Have reboot and pulled battery but no sound from speaker. Now it could be total coincidence or it could just be that my speaker is knackered but does anyone have any ideas on anything else that could be causing problem, I have checked all settings and do not have any car dock settings so can see nothing that would cause phone to mute speaker permanently. I am running stock 4.12, not rooted or any other adjustments. When doing the reset I did have it restore my stored settings as well. Thanks for any thoughts.

Holder putting pressure on the phone in just the right place to work a cold solder joint free.

Phone sitting in the sun causing heating problems. (Causing cold solder joints to etc.)

Voltage from the charger a bit high causing any of several problems.

Just guesses for you to investigate.

Cheers Rukbat, will probably have to end up putting phone in for repair as unfortunately I am not savvy enough to deal with most of those issues. Would any, or all of them be intermittent or should they cause the speaker to fail and remain broken. Cheers.
