Weird Wifi Problem

Here's my story. I just bought my Samsung Galaxy S 4g from WIND (Canadian company) a few days ago. I have this problem where I'm able to connect to wifi but moments later, the internet stops working. I'm STILL connected, but nothing seems to load up, and if I'm in the middle of a download, the download stops. My temporary fix is to disable & re-enable wifi to get it working again but again, the same problem occurs again later on. I've tried doing factory-reset but it doesn't seem to work. At first, I'm able to do alot of things, like downloading apps and stuff but then it randomly stops and i have to reset the wifi to let it work again.
IMPORTANT: The problem only occurs at my home to my knowledge. I tried downloading stuff in a public wifi access location and I don't seem to get any random wifi pauses. AND, i doubt its my home internet's problem because I've always been using wifi with my previous phone which was in fact, a pretty shitty phone. So yeah, any ideas on how to put an end to all this?

It may be that the wireless modem you're trying to connect to isn't that strong. I'm currently using a droid x2 and when I'm on FB wirelessly or trying to download an app etc it stops. I tried to use another wifi at someonelses house and it seemed to work fine for me. So I would say maybe it's that modem you're trying to go off of or maybe a problem with the phone?

I test a lot of Wireless routers and access points. When I was trying a MediaLink from Amazon, data transfer would stop while still conntected. The router still worked with my computer at the same time it stopped working with phone and iPad. I just switched back to a different router to fix it.

Small amount of process of elimination. Maybe try another channel on router settings, try auto or b & g mode, reset router... sure you said other phone worked but I get hang ups maybe once per few months & a reset usually sorts it (also change of channel helped once because of interference from other wifi nearby).
