Hi and welcome to me! A new LG Spectrum user here and I could use some help. Anything I need to know about the phone? I am coming from an HTC Incredible which I loved, but died due to a poor update from Verizon. They replaced it with the Spectrum.

I am not rooting this phone. Long story, but keeping it stock for now. But...what are the things I need to know right away? Activating tonight and would like a heads up on anything I need to know and some tips on things I should know.

Hi Crosley. Your question is rather broad and far reaching with many different answers. What I would suggest is that you play around with your new Spec and post any specific questions to this forum. We have some VERY helpful and knowledgeable members that are always ready to help you with answers. Have fun playing with your new phone and we all hope to see you around the forum frequently

First, the notification sounds are almost all "music". I have some hearing loss and need an old school telephone ringtone and some good loud notification sounds. Good place to find them for the Spectrum?
Second, the camera shutter sound is mandatory? Really? Is there a way to shut that darn thing off I'm missing?

A good place to get ringtones is Zedge. Free and thousands of choices.
You can turn off the shutter sound, turn the camera on, in the upper left corner, you'll see a cog/wheel, that is a settings menu, scroll down and you'll see Shutter Sound, you can adjust it there. :smokingsomb:
 
I'm on software version 2.3.6. Stock, no root from Verizon. I do not see any setting in the camera for shutter sound?

And thanks for the Zedge recommendation. Perfect for me!
