Well, now I know, no phone no account activation

First Dear God is there any number at Metro with English speaking people manning them? The Metro Indians were some of the hardest to understand I've heard.

Maybe it sounds like a stupid question to everyone but it didn't to me. My thought was I could activate my account and $55 plan before 1/3 and activate the phone when the new ZTE Avid arrives. I even found someone on-line that said that was possible but you had to activate the phone within 30 days.

Not so according to corporate and the corporate store in Gainesville, Fl. You have to have a phone to activate.

Also the corporate store nor corporate says they know Anything about any new rate plans or even the new ZTE.

Know anyone with a dummy phone you could use just to get the account set up? Maybe get one local off Craigslist for real cheap, perhaps broken but you can at least the account set up. Then buy the phone you want when it comes out. Just a thought.

That's more effort and $ than I want to expend to save $60 a year. (Who knows how long that savings will actually last.)
