Well, the 23rd is nearly here!

they probably saw the EVO 4G being released by Sprint and said to themselves "oh $h!t" we can't compete with that thunder... better hold off a few days..." LOL :D

I am sad too but I will not say vzw sucks because they don't actually need to be responsible for the rumors .

But it will be nice for them to let us know that the widely spread rumor is NOT TRUE. :(

To be honest, now I don't think either Incredible or nexus one will be available on vzw anytime soon. If you really want Nexus one badly, probably it's time to consider the other carrier.

mi_canuck: If you don't have anything constructive to add to the thread, please leave. This thread isn't about bashing VZW, it's about discussing the N1's release on their network. So, again, stick to the topic or kindly leave.

You have to hand it to VZW and Google for keeping a tight lid on this one. Since the (now defunct) March 23rd rumor and those inventory screen shots, there hasn't been a whisper from either organization.

Which I'm not exactly sure I fully understand. 95% of of buying public would be unaware of these little leaks and so forth. It's the techno-geeks like us that frequent these forums who are aware of them. I don't get all the secrecy.

But then I don't have a degree in marketing :D

hahaha.... verizon fails to deliver yet again... ask the folks STILL waiting for their "Tour 2 Blackberries"... many have given up holding their breath... smells like the same with the Nexus/Incredible...

vzw SUCKS!!!! :D

So the carrier with the best coverage in the United States sucks? Hmm that sounds about right. I myself can't wait to ditch my T-mo nexus one for the verizon version. It's not verizon's fault that people get a hold of unconfirmed rumors and run with it. It'll be out when it's ready and I'm fine with that.

Ya....but why does it always take so much longer for poor sensitive little Verizon to get anything done? Always so much drama for us Verizon guys.....will we finally get the Iphone, will we get the Nexus One now that every other carrier has it, etc., etc........? Why?

And as far as voice.....yes Verizon is the best.....but as far as data speeds, (texting, web, etc.), which most people use more than voice these days, I'd say no.

So come on Verizon stop raising your prices on everything, stop jacking around and showcasing boring new messaging phones and skype and just give us the Nexus One already...........Please!

Oh and can you give us the Incredible and EVO too.....and the new Iphone 4G?

What.....Verizon just announced a new ENV and Alias.....NOOOOOOOOO!!!

galvin hit the corner and take a time out.

RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!

were you the one whining about VZW saying that N1 was coming in the Spring or something of that nature?? ITS 4 FREAKING DAYs IN. are you another complainer that 2.1 should be out for everybody, NOW??

i read earlier somewhere today something that has changed my tune about stuff, a little.

You are buying a phone here. buying it as-is. if they send updates, consider yourself LUCKY. it's in good spirit that they do this.

oh wait, you didnt list your phone. trollish or undecided or what?

sack up and do tell why you're really here trying to cause a ruckus!?!?

You know what it's quite simple....I'm very interested in purchasing the N1. But unlike every other major cellular provider, my provider still doesn't offer it. And as a long time Verizon customer I've just grown very tired of the way they are so slow to finally do anything. I think Verizon is so caught up in their stupid maps commercials and thinking they are so superior to everyone else, that they risk becoming less and less relevant.

Bramspy.....can't you just allow a brother to vent on a public forum? I didn't know being disappointed with Verizon was causing a "ruckus". I was just stating my opinion?

Do you really think Verizon is on top of this N1 release?

I don't know anything about "worldbuzz" but I think they are just rehashing old news and speculation. Unless and until I see a Verizon option on this page, I think everything we see is just an attempt to get page views. :)

absolutely. but throw in after you go on your rant. you almost feel like an iPlop secret agent trying to disrupt the waters for our happy Droid community!

is V on top of their game about this? No. but who is on top of their game about cell phones? Almighty iPlop? 3 generation of tactical brainwashing to implement copy/paste, MMS and video recording....... how about Sprint? do you think theyre on top of their game when customers have to complain about a screwed up bill...? who else is there. oh yeah T-Mo. i dont know enough about them. oh and Boost. they have cool commercials so im sure they are on top of their game.

i understand the ADD, i do. the eagerness to use something that looks to be great!!

but show VZW some humility and remember that we kinda are the best network out there. at least we are paying for it!! ;)

I have been a VZW customer for more than 7 years now. VZW is always the last one to integrate new devices into their network. I don't know what the bottleneck is in their system but i am sure it has something to do with the red tape they must have. Either they spend a LOT of time testing new hardware before they let it onto their network, or their marketing department takes a while to approve such stuff. One way or the other, it is because of the size and culture of the company. The culture it inherited from a bunch of telecom giants (Bell Atlantic, AirTouch etc) is full of red tape.

Whatever it is, VZW thinks it has a good process and if the past is anything to go by, they might have a small user base of techies that complain about their slow adoption of new technologies, but overall, it has served them well. However, this is quite a debatable topic. In today's fast pace, VZW needs to recognize the fact that it will have to cut back on the red tape and get with the program or learn some hard lessons at its own peril. Still I am disappointed that I don't have my VZW Nexus one in my hands yet

The HTC EVO 4G may have stolen some of the thunder of Nexus One. But I personally still prefer the Nexus One over the EVO 4G. For three reasons.

1. EVO 4G is too big for my taste. I don't want to walk around with a big iPad like device which does not even fit comfortably in my shirt pocket or even the pants pocket. I also do not wish to hold up a big pad like device to my ear while making a call. I think the Nexus One is just the perfect size.

2. With so many things on the phone, I think HTC overdid things a bit. There are bound to be some hardware issues and since this is the first 4G phone, it will have problems, not just of hardware, but also of software integration and interoperability of different components of the phone.

3. If Android is your preferred smartphone OS. Then Nexus One (or any other future Google sponsored phone) will always have an advantage over all other Android phones, as it will always get the latest and greatest in Android updates and features. Integration with Google products will always be the tightest.

Just my two cents.

this is true... what would be really cool if the Nexus Two end up being an EVO 4G, but unbranded (other than Google) and carrier-less... it would then be the new king! :D

well, if HTC (and Sprint to a lesser extent), did their proper testing, issues should be minimal... i'm sure many lessons learned on the Nexus can be applied to the EVO...

but this does bring up the question for the ROM cookers... with all the complex hardware, and multitude of options it brings with it... i'm sure it will be a bit more challenging for stable ROMs to be developed at least initally... but i'm sure some of the devs and hackers will relish the opportunity of such a powerful beast... think of the possibilities when the get it right! :D

Peace....ya I'm no Iphone secret agent.....although I feel that Verizon made a huge mistake with that one. I really like Android, and just hope that old V can get some of these sweet new devices soon.....here's hoping......

This is my first post to the forums but I figured I would update with what I heard. My situation is a little different, I left VZW for the Iphone and although I liked the phone ATT was a miserable experience, so I paid my cancellation fee, unlocked and jailbroke my phone and moved to T-Mobile (Still not great service but better than ATT). All was well until a recent trip when my Iphone died hard. Took it in to Mac store and they gave me a new phone which of course I can no longer unlock or jailbreak. So I have been using a crappy little phone straight out of the 90s. All that being said I am heading back to VZW and Android. Based on all the rumors about the N1 I have been suffering without a smartphone and patiently waiting for the N1. As the phone hasn't been released I decided to buy the Droid and try to use the 30 day return policy to return it and upgrade to the N1 with the hope that the N1 will be released within the next 30 days. Now to the point. I called VZW to ensure that i will be able to keep my phone number if I returned the Droid and ordered the N1 from google. I dealt with first line service person and he couldn't answer my question and sent me to a smartphone specialist. Sorry for the long intro to finally get to the point. The specialist informed me that 1) N1 release is slated for June and 2) that it will not be sold directly from Google and will be sold from Verizon Stores and that they are planning a huge marketing campaign to go along with the release. Obviously he might have been talking about the Incredible but who knows. Just figured I would pass along what I heard
