Root Welp! ... I BRICKED it! Here we go...

I was going to tell you what to type when I remembered that there is a one click method for fastboot. recheck my last post.

Is it plug into the charger that came with the bionic or are you charging off of your computer?

Sorry for the slow reply but i could not get back on the site

had it plugged into a third party ac charger for 1 hour, then plugged into computer for 20 min. now trying wall charger that it came with and will let sit for an hour or two

The computer is not strong enough for a fast charge and I read that some chargers don't play well with the bionic.

had it plugged into the wall charger it came with for last hour and 15 min. i unplugged it and within 10 seconds it turned off, like it was not charging at all. no problems at all before attempting to flash. gonna let it charge overnight, but doubt it will make a difference. will try a new battery tomorrow if i have to because it says low battery and i cant do shit now

I know it is not the article I was reading but it is coming from p3 droid.

If the charger is less than 0.8 amp charger the bionic will take forever. That is why when charging off your computer takes so long because a standard usb is only 0.5 amp and also why most aftermarket chargers take a long time.

ok, i found out my battery took a shit and i got a warranty replacement. once installed i was still unable to get RDS lite to flash, kept getting flashing error. used the One Click Fastboot Restore and that worked like a charm. needless to say i am back up and running with the new Theory Rom and loving it. thanx for all your help everyone. still not sure why RDS worked before but not anymore but not even worried about it since the one click method worked flawlessly. That was a long 2 days without a phone especially since my internet business odes have a phone number. Back to the Bionic and Bats....

PS...there really may be something to the unsupported chargers thing as i had it plugged in to a third party charger and the battery percentage was actually dropping.....this is prior to my fix. now nothing but OEM i guess.

I use a variety of cables and chargers without any difficulty that data cables are another story. And Verizon said that's the way they planned it?

One-click fastboot restore and root for the bionic v2.1 - xda-developers

Here is another great way to get your phone unbricked. This a newer version of the fastboot method suggested above. I've used it twice so far, once to actually unbrick my phone and the other time to return to stock so I could return the phone. Works very well, you don't have to download rsd or the recovery file, its all in one package. Just put the phone into fastboot, connect to a pc and run it. Easy as pie.

Also gives you the option to reroot afterwards too!

Cool to update this thread, I guess ... since it won't die on it's own. :D But that method has already be posted IN THIS THREAD in this forum.

I was fairly certain that the fastboot recovery as with all other resets would not wipe the data so I decided to risk it and go for it... All data is in tact. :-)

Sorry for the delayed response ... out playing a gig. Anywho, as you found it ... your data is untouched. Cool, huh?
