went into verizon today to get a replacement phone

I've been having those random reboot problems, they told me they were going to fed-ex me a new one within two days. I asked to make sure that theyre not going to send me a shitty, refurbished phone, and she of course said I cant really say, we dont know.. for anyone who had a replacement sent to them, did you guys get brand new phones? or refurbished ones?

It varied. When I had a badly failing front facing camera I found on day 15 after buying (grrr....), I got a new one. When I couldn't activate that one, I got a refurb. I still have that third phone and I don't have any problem with it at all. Other than the packaging, it is indistinguishable from new.

I'd think that the new replacement inventory is probably gone and all the battery whiners have generated a flood of CLNRs.

yeah, it's weird, because a week or so after I got my first one (on the first day they came out)) I noticed a black speck on my camera lens that wasnt actually on the lens.. it didnt move and showed up in all pictures and video, i went into the store and they gave me a brand new one, no questions asked on the spot... which is why I was a little surprised when someone else gave me this whole "who did you talk to? what did they say???" thing that was kind of annoying, considering verizon has acknowledged that it's a known problem.

Thats because with your first exchange you were within your return period and if they don't kiss your behind then you can just flat out return it and go someplace else. Now its a different story because you have passed the return window and while they are obligated to help you with any warranty exchanges, you no longer have any leverage as far as returning it and going elsewhere.

I have a refurb one and working fine. I just did the manual update and waiting to see if it fixes the reboot issues.

The reboot issue is software and a fix is coming soon. your refurb they ordered you will have the same issue until you get the update. just refuse the package when it gets to you and keep the one you have. if you still have the reboot issue after mr2 then call tech support and order a replacement.

You will get a shitty Refurb phone with more than likely more problems than your rebooting phone.

My front facing camera was broken and I got sent a replacement. I'm pretty sure it was a refurb. I haven't had a problem with it in any way. Keep in mind I'm rooted, and using a different ROM (Das Banf 1.7) so I won't have the reboot thing going on.

got it today, and it is a brand new phone. nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no rebooting issues as of yet, and definitely not going to upgrade the firmware until it's confirmed that the reboot crap has been fixed. Thanks for the help, guys!

I am on my 4th replacement each one had a different problem. Luckily this one has no issues and I didnt update to the update which was causing the reboots I installed the newest update and it works like a charm.
