Wet G2x, flickering screen

Hello everyone!
My beloved little green guy got a little wet today. I hurredly removed the battery and sim card. after several hours, I put everything back together, and the entire screen flicked on and off, about .5 second interval. So I took it apart again and I'm letting it dry out more. Do you think I toasted it? I noticed the little sticker on the battery turned pink, which I assume is an indicator it got wet. Sneaky manufacturers.:(:o

I read about putting the phone in a box with silica gel and a maxi pad. Thank goodness I'm a girl and I just got my son new shoes.

It's a moisture indicator. If it's pink, it tells the manufacturer the phone has been wet. The warranty is void. Just about all phones have them.

You should never try and power-up a phone if you think it's still got liquid inside. it can short-out and fry the electronics. Remove the battery. The little bag of silica-gel that came with your son's shoes may not be enough. It's probably already exhausted from trying to keep the shoes dry during their journey from China.

Maxi-pads(unused) might be OK, alternatively rice is always a good desiccant, as is cat-litter(unused). You need to seal the phone in a bag, along with the desiccant and leave it in a warm place for a few days, like an airing cupboard. Hopefully it's not fried and might work OK.

Sounds about as hopeless as I thought it was. I realized I messed up when I tried to power up. Dumb move on my part. So hopefully the phone gods rain blessings down on me and a miracle happens. Thanks.
