Help wfi trying to connect

since updating to v6 any time i open an app at home or near a wifi hot spot my phone pops up the hey wifi here what do you want to do window. I've turned off the notify me option yet keeps doing it. Is there a new setting i'm missing?

I've noticed that as well, and I'm on Broken Out 3.0. Even Handcent SMS does this to me if I'm texting from home but forgot to turn on wi-fi. I'm thinking that maybe individual apps are trying to connect via wi-fi.

Anyone know what's going on?

You talking about the pop up message about connecting to wifi?

That's a setting in wifi settings. Uncheck "Auto Connect" and it won't appear anymore. It took me a bit to figure out why I was getting that popup and how to stop it.

Same here, it will be fine after answering a bunch of times but after a reboot it starts asking again.

All those settings are unchecked in the wifi settings, still getting the pop up.
Yea... I got it today on BO3. I'm going to look into it more. Are any of you using Juice Defender or another similar application? I think it might be due to a setting in JD (I usually keep wifi on, so I don't get the message).

Its not in JD i get the same annoying message. I don't use JD. I even get it sometimes when wifi is already on.

Yea, ditto. If you run a background logcat and save it, we might find out what's causing that, but I'd bet it's a bug in the LG OS related to the 'connect over wifi' function that operates, even when turned off.

Not having any issues with Eclipse 0.2 and Blitz, although after a reboot, if I turn wifi on, then turn it off, the notification pull down still shows it as on. But checking the settings shows it is actually off. Only resolution is another reboot.

Yea it's almost like the setting doesn't stick until rebooted. It happens once and then never again to me.

I have a thought, there is a Verizon auto Wi-Fi app you can install to activate Wi-Fi when you are at a predetermined location. Is it possible that Verizon added one or more new APIs to improve their app and included them with v6 that they did not use in prior Roms?
It could be expecting to find the app, then when it does not it defaults back to the normal "hey want to connect to Wi-Fi?" Pop up

I have been getting the same pop ups for the last two or so weeks, never before. I've of the first things I do is turn the Wi-Fi pop up thing off, as I only use Wi-Fi when one of the markets makes me.

I used that app for a while before I got juice defender. It's great and essentially turns wifi on when you're in a certain radius of a home address. Juice defender can do the same thing if you have it installed.
