Please, I’ve never seen this before. It is an uppercase M with a dot on top on the right side. Thank you!

Unfortunately there are literally millions of apps out there, so unless it's a common one the odds of anyone recognising it are not good. And a reverse image search produced nothing.

Probably asking the phone's owner is your best bet.

we get this question almost everyday. and as @Hadron said, there are just too many apps with notification icons. unless it is something like facebook or youtube, these kind of questions never really get answered. most of just throw out guesses. and like @Hadron suggested, you are better off just asking.
