Help What am I doing wrong with my S3 camera?

Hello - I was so excited to get my S3, particularly as I was looking forward to having a better camera on my phone. But I think I must be doing something wrong because the pictures I take are generally quite pixillated. I'm afraid that I'm v untechy so this might be a silly question, but pictures friends take on their i-phones are of comparable quality to photos taken with a regular camera. I was hoping for the same result with the Galaxy S3, but most (not all) of the pictures I have taken so far are too pixillated to be worth printing out. I've checked in the settings and it says its on the 8MP setting so I just don't understand why they're such poor quality. Any advice gratefully received...

Are you getting them from your phone or from a text or another site that you posted to? I sent my wife a pic last night via text and she put it on FB, needless to say the picture that posted to FB is compressed and does not look good compared to the hard copy.
