This shows up in the top status bar on a phone and I just cannot find anything, whatsoever, about this icon.

When I pull down it doesn't show up.

It could be some VPN or Onion browser, but I'm not sure. It's my sisters phone and she has no recollection or the know-how for any of this.

I suspect remote hassling.

Those I'm very familiar with, as I've used them myself. And they can for totally legitimate purposes, like bypassing CCP govt. censoring, as well nefarious uses as well. Unfortunately I can't identify that particular icon.
