Root What are the Benefits of Having your Phone UNROOTED

I have a HTC EVO 4G Flashed to Boost Mobile "TRULY ROOTED AS IN S-OFF STATUS" Finally after paying 2 different Flashers the 1st guy didn't know what the hell he was doing said the 2nd guy. The Second Flasher was actually able to get me "S-OFF" and Voicemail Notification working.

SO NOW THAT IS IS "S-OFF" I GUESS YOU CAN SAY MY HTC EVO 4G FLASHED TO BOOST MOBILE IS NOW "TRULY ROOTED"

But i keep hearing some like to keep it "UNROOTED'' Why??????? would you
to be able to get updates or something like that or what would be the reason other than being able to i believe if i am not mistaken go back to Sprint.

LET ME KNOW WHEN ICE CREAM SANDWICH WITH WORKING EVERYTHING INCLUDING MMS IS AVAILABLE FOR MY HTC EVO 4G FLASHED TO BOOST MOBILE.
 
There is no need to unroot the phone unless to take it in for warranty repair. However, seeing that your flashed to boost you most likely do not have this.

We're making great strides on ICS development but everything won't fully be working until we get something we can port that is on the sprint network.


In other words, it'll probably never have 4G for our EVOS since everything that comes out from now on is LTE.
 
I wouldn't worry about being unrooted as you are on Boost so I don't think any warranties would apply anyway. I'm also looking forward to ICS. I haven't had anything that didn't randomly reboot during the day but it's getting closer. :D

I am curious to see what happens when the Evo 3D gets ICS. I wonder if that will help us get 4G with an ICS rom?

Once the 3vo gets ICS, there will be an ICS Shooter ROM. ;)
No doubt in my mind.

The 3vo is supposed to get ICS is Q2 of this year. Which has started. I would expect to see it out shortly but could take up to as much as 3 months. HTC is normally good with updates. I have also read on Gizmodo that HTC is aiming for the end of the month to send out its ICS updates.
 
Err yeah... you guys are right once the 3vo gets it we should see a port.

If the 3vo gets an offical ics update,we will definitely get at LEAST a 98% fully functional ics Rom your our OG's. No doubt in my mind. The OG EVO has by far the best devs,imo. I've lurked in other popular phone sections and there really isn't anything proportional to our section. :) and i bet KANG will have one of the top ics roms,or should I say,maintain their rep for having the best ics rom ;)
