What are the Top Android Tips?

[Wei55zach]

Sorry if this has already been covered but please bear (Grrrrrrr) with me. What are the top five tips you should do as soon as you get rocking on Android. (ie. Root, firmware, apps etc)

I say root like I know what it means, I don't I just read this on the FAQ guide. Hee hee make myself laugh at times.

Read the FAQ's. Read the forums. Don't underestimate the utility of the forums and merely use them as your personal tech support. Play around. Don't be afraid to try things. No different than any other device or new toy, really.

Generic lists are fairly useless IMO. What are you specifically looking to do? That should guide your actions. Don't assume that every person has identical needs/wants. Rooting is something that each person needs to read up on and decide upon for his/her self. Apps are really no different. It does no good to blindly recommend apps. For example, I find Touchdown incredibly useful. If you don't have an Exchange account you won't though. Again, consider your needs wants and act on them.

If you're curious about apps and want some ideas then read the Apps subforum (again, make use of the forums by reading them).
