Because it's so far East, it's nearly West, but not quite. :p

Seriously, though; since the established global center of the map is England, the near-East would be the Balkan States, the middle-East is Palastine and the Arabian peninsula, and Indochina makes up the far-East. I suppose one could argue that Japan would be extremest-East or something... but, yeah. The International Date Line (180 degrees Longitude) runs through the Pacific, to the east of the continent and New Zealand. A tiny bit of Russia at the Arctic circle crosses the line.

Blame it on those Imperial English. Then again, even if the French or the Dutch had retained the Meridian, the answer would have remained the same.

I'll just stay here on Middle Earth.
Bought the trio only made it 1/4 way through Two Towers. It's always skewed when you see the Movie first. Or Vice Versa.
When you go in with a preconceived notion of how things should look and how characters should act it's always disappointing.

Finished both Saint Odd by Dean Koontz, and A History of Pi by Petr Beckmann.

Now working on reading something else...
 
With the upcoming film remake of Stephen King's 'IT', I got the book. I've read most of his stuff, but not that one.
 
May have touched on this before, but King can be terribly long-winded at times.

I've always preferred his short stories. "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" one of my favorites.
BTW, Red was called that because he was a ginger Irishman. Not Morgan Freeman. Ended up working though. One of the best novella to screen adaptations that I can think of.
