I'm trying to determine which app is best for podcasts and how exactly to manage them when not syncing to iTunes. It's my last step to figure out in the great iPhone to Evo migration! Thanks

I think Google Listen enables you to search for and download Podcasts.
Subsonic is a music server that runs on your home computer, and it has a Podcast section. I use it, and it works pretty well.
I've been using Subsonic for all my music lately. The EVO will be my first android phone, so I'm not sure yet how well the Subsonic android app works.
The downside is that your home computer has to be on for it to work, but mine is on all the time anyway. It allows me to access my ~85GB of music anywhere I have internet access.

PodKast is cool, but it will kill your battery if you do a lot of videos.
Also Google Listen doesn't do video does it?
