Do you have a way of restoring/recovering your device such as a nandroid backup or an appropriate ROM for it, or are you just doing look but don't touch, modify or delete?

We do get a lot of posts along the lines of, I deleted some files in /system and now my device is bricked...HELP!!

What device have you actually got, because some are very easy to restore to a working state should something go wrong, others you might be buying a new phone or tablet or HDMI dongle or car head-unit, etc. if you screw it up.

Frankly Root Explorer really can be a Weapon of Mass Destruction if you don't know what you're doing.

I know what I'm doing. But, I want to hear from you guys some interesting things which can be done. *I don't care what happens to my device* :) So, you could go ahead and brief me with the best things that can be done using root explorer...

Change/add ringtones & notification sounds, change bootanimations, default wallpapers, and Es can even be flashed to system for a permanent spot that will stay on a factory reset

You can also install user apps as system apps (to save storage space and so they survive a reset (as bcrichster hinted at) :thumbsupdroid:

Oh and mess around with build.prop (i once changed my model to iPhone 5 and posted a screenshot of my "iPhone" running Android kitkat on an iPhone g+ community lol (supertroll)

Two really great ways to convert a phone to a non-working state.
