Help What Build to Load?

On one of my Touchpads, I installed the August 8, 2013 build of CM10.1, the one with the working BT for the keyboard. Did the BT keyboard just not work with previous versions?

On a TP I just revived, I installed CM10 12/16/2012. In some ways, I like it better than the 8/8/2013 build. I think Colchiro commented that it was a little under-resourced to run the more recent build.

Just wondering, can you "downgrade" CM versions? I think the older one runs better, but I'm a bit on the fence since I do have an HP Keyboard.

I'm also wondering, is there another build post-8/8/2013 that uses less resources and is more responsive that would be recommended?

Comments / advice most welcome.

Not in the way you upgrade by downmloading a few changed files. But if you flash a whole ROM, it doesn't matter which ROM you flashed it over.

Just remember to clear everything both before and after flashing it. A ROM should initialize EVERYTHING the first time it runs, but if it doesn't it could pick up some values the old ROM left behind and crash. Sometimes even the best developer loses sight of the forest because of the individual trees. (Proving that yes, even geeks are human.)

Thank you.

So, if I were to do a total re-flash... can I bother you for the process again? I presume I
Download the .ZIP for the CM and the Google Apps and make sure they are on the internal storage of the TP where I can find them.

I go to recovery, I clear both cache's then I install the ZIPs in succession and reboot?

JCSullin's builds are generally pretty good. Seems to me he just had a new one in the last month or so. His files are on Goo. Don't flash the 3.4 kernel unless you like to update a lot. Most of those require a different recovery and rearranging the data partition tho.

FWIW: I tried the older CM version (12/16/2012), and the HP BT Keyboard works. Funny stuff. :D
