What camera (and video) resolution will you use??

Camera:

I like 8mp, but if you drop it down to 6.5mp you get wide screen photos which makes full use of the screen when viewing in the gallery, which I like, too.

Camcorder:

I like 1080p, but I've heard that if you record at 720p you get more frames/sec (24 vs 30), thus smoother video (true?). If this one is true, I'll pry go with 720, as most cannot tell a difference between 720 and 1080 anyway, and I like smoother video.

What do you guys think about these camera topics?

I mostly take pictures to put on my facebook or email/text so I think 8mp is a little overkill. Although I did pick up a 16g memory card so I have plenty of room for the highest resolution. As for the video, I'll definitely be using 1080p and transfer that to my big screen that plays 1080p.

Camera: 8mp - i use my phone as camera substitute often so would rather have better quality than how it looks in gallery as i transfer to computer periodically.

Video: 720p just to get smoother video as you suggest. i'd rather have better looking video than be able to brag about it being 1080p.

I'm just going to use the full 8mp. I can always crop for widescreen later. And yes, 30fps 720p is better than 24fps 1080p. Even on the Evo, I used the 480p setting just for the 30fps.
