What Device Did You Move Onto?

what up hollywoods!...miss u and imu. I totally agree. the g2 and spec is no comparison. VZW development has pretty much everything u can want., just waiting for official 4.4 update...honestly im not even rooted right now as stock is just fine for me..i couldnt imagine running stock on the spec...hope all is well with u

All is well here, just has my 1st child in January, so phone stuff hasnt been high up on the priority list. I'm rooted just to debloat, and have trwp to flash update zips rather than ota. Every now and then ill at cm or something, but i just cant make myself do it, i'm too happy with stock. Im kinda glad 4.4 is taking a while, it looks like the couple carriers that have released are having some issues. I havent read any specific threads but im seeing a lot pop up.

Stock 4.4 for att is not really much different from stock 4.2. I'm running cloudyflex and loving it. Now im just waiting for a 4.4 flex port

My Verizon contract is about up. Thinking getting a new phone. But really interested in what LG comes up with for the G3. I may hold out and keep the spec for a couple more months for the G3. LG seems to be really stepping up their game. If the G2 is as good as you guys say, it might be worth holding out for a while longer.

I personally miss nothing at all from the spec. I'd say if you don't want to reup with vzw, get a g2 on t-mo. It really is a great phone!

T-mobile doesn't offer 4G service where I live, and the G2 doesn't impress me compared to the Nexus 5 (especially the stupid back volume control...) and it costs more than an S4....

So, not sure what I'm going to do. Like I said, CM11 is rocking right now, and I'm about to go month-to-month with VZW with grandfathered unlimited 4G data. I'm getting about 15MBps speeds in my living room...

I'm loving the grandfathered unlimited VZW 4g. I have a tower about a mile away behind my house, and I don't think anyone else around uses it lol. Personally I outright bought a VZW G2 off craigslist and activated it.

i actually wasnt a fan at all of the back buttons, hated them at 1st. Now i absolutely love them. Takes a little bit a retraining your fingers, but to me its more convenient.

I could move to the G2, but since I am on Page+, there is the HUGE problem of getting data to work on a G2, which seems to be a bigger problem than getting data working on the Spec. So I'm still here with a Spec, 'till the bitter end.

I've been with the g2 on at&t for about a month now. I made the right choice. Lg based ROMs run better and smoother than I could've imagined. Cm has its issues. But omni is perfect for me at the moment. Vzw looks like the worst carrier to get the g2. AT&T variant almost has a working HTC one M8 port :p.

im truthfully not really worried about unlimited data. I don't use much data at all, i'm always around wifi usually. Its more of a novelty, unicorn type of thing really. However i did go through the headache of upgrading another line, then transferring the device to my line to keep unlimited data when i got my G2.

I tried ordering the GS4 from bestbuy but kept having issues with the site. I gave up eventually. I just got the GS5 today and will be using it in a few minutes. I dont think the swapping sim card would've worked with this phone as the sim card looks alot smaller then my sim card for the lg.

probably microsim. g2 uses the same size.

but overall how is the gs5? coming from the spectrum. lol

l my G3 arrives in couple of hours (may I do the unlimited data switch dance correctly).

Seems like it's good choice, they all have their flaws from reading the various posts, but we'll see how it goes.

Not sure if I should get the g2 or droid maxx, g3 and s5 are too much and don't look that good to me coming from the g2 or s4

I've had the G3 now for a few days, and I'm pretty happy with it. Screen size is less of an issue than I though. It's a long way from my Driod Eris....

G2 vs g3 is basically up to your pockets. Both are amazing devices. But so far. G2 is better. G3 development is slacking

now the g3, m8, and s5 are on sale now, im probably going to get the s5 or m8, lg is just terrible with their services, like firmware updates, and they might not even update the g3 to android L, and my spectrum had the worst reception out of all the phones ive had, so i might say goodbye to LG

At this point I don't need another ROM, and flashing is losing it's appeal. Basic root so I can wifi tether and clear bloat has been good enough so far.

Personally can't wait until my contract is up. However, I feel like I've missed out on a lot. I received my first ever android phone, then joined this forum, about halfway through the development cycle. In a lot of ways I was lucky to get involved, rooted the phone, then started diving deeper and deeper into file structures, and so on. Learned a lot I think. Now I feel comfortable playing with roms and flashing, and creating my own roms for my own use, changing what apps are included. But I guess time marches on.......
