What do I pay for

I just got a HTC Tattoo Ink as a free upgrade on orange dolphin 15. I've never had a phone were I used the internet before so I'm just wondering what I actually pay for...I've used the market and downloaded some free apps, I had "always connected" thing activated for most of the day but I think I've been connected using wifi. My online bill hasn't been updated yet so I can't just check that :S

I'm on Vodafone so not positive about Orange price plans, but you might want to go into a store to discuss this.

On Orange I belive the internet can cost up to

So, as long as the mobile network is always OFF, it won't charge me anything? But I can use the wifi connection to download apps and use the facebook/twitter stuff for free?
