What do you do when you get throttled?

I get between 10-40mbps on Sprints LTE. Its unlimited, but they have the right to throttle the top 5% of users. I'm perfectly OK with that

I clarified with him via PM. He was just trolling on that comment. He wanted to justify not moving to a cheaper plan by A) claiming other unlimited services throttle, and B) claiming his $170 plan was $50/month. He fully understands that not all unlimited services throttle.

I quickly find a better carrier....
 
i am not trolling. here all of the 'unlimited' plans say 'speeds guaranteed to 2GB' on all of them. that implies throttling. i have been there and not risking it again. i need my 4G to get online and play games and stream media. there is truly no way to know for sure if the unlimited data is throttled until after it happens and you're SOL. not every carrier makes it clear either.


ok a little correction, Sprint has 'true unlimited data' here but i live in a Sprint dead zone. any carrier with decent reception where i live either has no unlimited plan and the few who do throttle you after the first or second gigabyte, making streaming video and online gaming useless.

It used to be a big thing to announce that you offered "unlimited" data and then throttled. Due to the uproar over it, more and more providers are stating at what point throttling begins.

Sprint and Verizon are more vague (we throttle X% of top users based on the phase of the moon), the latter on grandfathered unlimited plans.

T-Mobile offers true unlimited (for now) with tiered throttling plans underneath it.
 
Meh, abusers of the system are part of the reason unlimited plans have gone away for the two biggest carriers, and as more and more abusers go to the only remaining plans why they will go away all together.

I have no issues with companies throttling x% of the top users during peak usage

What constitutes as abuse to you? To me unlimited with no throttle, means I can do just that.

Really because 30 GB with Netflix on my phone with mhl. Seems to work equal to my 30 GB on my desktop... To me unlimited is just that
 
Right, you replied to my post which was my opinion of what a data abuser is. In turn you made it sound like that's exactly what you was doing.

Which 30gb is still kind of abusing unlimited data lol
