Please search. This has been discussed before and it's one of the most common questions on any Android forum site. There's no need to reinvent the wheel each time a new user signs up here and wonders what root is. Try using Google. If you have problems finding an answer then ask. I don't mind helping those that need the help but each person needs to take some initiative in finding answers to questions and the questions above clearly indicate that no effort has been made at all.
