Root What does 4GB ROM Nand means in ?

Hi All,

I have been planning to buy Micromax Canvas HD. I was looking at its configuration and there is one thing that is confusing me way too much.

Memory 1 GB RAM, 4 GB ROM

I am hard time understanding what 4GB of ROM is needed for ? Is it just the normal internal memory which they are labeling as ROM, or does it have a different purpose altogether. Because once phone is up and running the OS is loaded in RAM and not ROM. So what does ROM do here and what data it holds which increases the requirement to have 4G of ROM.

Secondly the specifications of the phone says it has internal memory of 1.77G, so is it the Application Use memory only or it combines memory for both Application Usage and Mass Storage also.

I would appreciate your help and response.

Your phone have 4GB internal storage, in which approx 2 GB is only for android and you cannot use it.
Remaining approx 2gb (in ur case 1.77gb) can be used to save songs, photos, apps etc..
