Help What does changing a default to Always actually do?

What I mean is this..

Say I'm using Feedly and click on an app link. I get the option to open in Chrome or Google play.

If I select Always Google play does that effect only Feedly or does every app that I click an app link in now automatically open Play?

What if something later on gives a third choice will the original "Always" over rule this new choice?

Just exactly what is effected if I select an "Always"?

This is a bit oversimplified, but essentially the first time you try to do anything that isn't handled by the system intslf it will search for an app or service that has informed the system that it can handke the request and if more than one is found will offer the choice. If you tap "always" it remembers your choice and doesn't ask again.

It doesn't really matter which app you were using at the time, the "preference" will be remembered and will apply everywhere. Preferences can be reset globally (in the apps menu in settings) or for any individual app that has any preferences assigned to it (tap on the app in the apps list in settings), allowing you to choose a different app next time you use that resource.
