Help What does this message mean?

What message would you get if one of your contacts changed their number and you tried calling them?

I've tried calling my boyfriend from several different phones and each time I get a message saying "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect please check the number or code and try again" and it doesn't matter what phone I call from, it always gives me that message. Did his phone get disconnected due to non payment or is he possibly having technical issues with his phone? He has Boost Mobile if that makes a difference. I was able to call and text him just fine yesterday. This started when I tried texting/calling him this morning.

I don't know Boost Mobile, but the message sounds to me like the number is not recognised as a valid number. Disconnection, for whatever reason, is the most obvious explanation. If it is a technical problem it sounds like a problem with the network rather than the handset.
