What gamepad works best?

I'm looking for a good wireless controller to play some games on this beast and can't decide what route to take. I have a PS3 controller, but as I understand you need root for that, and I'm not sure I want to root it yet. I wanna know it works before I void the warranty. But I see stick on controllers on amazon with mixed reviews. There is the gamestop controller, I'm leaning toward right now. Anyone have any good ideas. Or am I screwed if I don't root right away.

I dont know about wireless, but a PS3 controller works via USB and cheap $6 OTG cable. No root, nothing to do, its plug and play (assuming your game allows mapping to the buttons).

^ exactly. I had a OTG cable because I use DSLR controller with USB. Just some OTG cable on Amazon that was highly rated. I got the right angle version. And it use with flash drives. Anyway, just as the video says, grab a PS3 controller and plug it up. You will see right away that you keyboard-like controller in the OS. you can tab around the menu and launch programs. Pretty much trial and error on the game mappings. Unfortunately, some popular racing games just have the on screen wheel and ignore physical buttons. Gunman Clive is a perfect game for a game pad. It works very well. However, the mappings are limited. You'll have to use the buttons in the only way it recognizes. for instance, 3 or the 4 buttons on the pad will launch menu items. so, you can only have fire or jump on top.. the back keys can be set anyway you like. It's not a big problem... but I'd rather have jump and fire on the top (O-X) buttons.

The Nyko PlayPad. Looks portable, has good button customization, and has all of the buttons/sticks of a console controller.

If you can wait until December, get a Drone controller from Evolution Controllers:
Drone | Evolution Controllers
It's a little pricey but I haven't seen anything cooler yet.

Here's another to add to the list SteelSeries FREE Mobile Controller

Out of all the reviews, esp those on Amazon, most of these aren't worth it. Moga is more miss than hit; so is the Nyko. Seems most cant wait to get their hands on the Drone. (I'm one of those people). I love the assortment of colors although I'm going for white.
