What happened to my dialer?

I click and press the dialer but I end up with the contacts. When I press the contacts, I end up with contacts. What happened to my dialer/phone? Is this a software malfuntion?

Are you running the default Samsung phone/contacts app or do you have something else installed like Go Dialler?

Have you tried rebooting the phone (this should always be your first move when something goes wrong) ?

Are your sure you haven't just got the contacts tab selected in your dialer? If this isn't the case you should be able to long press the icon and then put the shortcut to the dialer back there.
