Help what is android market.

What is Android market and how do l get onto it.
l have just got a LG540 and do not know how to use any apps so help would be great.Is Android market free, what does it do, do l have to do anything on my phone to get onto it.
My phone also has things like APP Advisor..
Foursquare
Layar
Quickoffice
RSS Reader
Shazam
Google Mail... and many more and l'll be honest l have'nt a clue what to do to get them, do l have to register for them are they free.
Are there any good free things l can download on here for the phone....

All the things you are seeing in the Menu/App Drawer are already there and free to use... You don't have to register, simply just open them... Android Market (Look for an app called ''Market'' in your phone) is application store from where you can download apps for your Android device.. There, you'll see both Free & Paid apps (Depending on your region, Paid apps aren't available in many region)... You can download free apps for free, & for Paid apps you need to pay the amount...
