I've been hunting around on this and I really cannot tell you what it does. I have seen many users successfully freeze it with TB, but do that at your own risk.

you will lose the ability to access some of the hidden menus in your phone.... like ##33284 or ##8778# however you can grab anycut from the market and create shortcuts for those....I still don't recommend delete

IDK but i always force stop it when i boot up. apparently it eats up battery but idk if its true..

The average user/modder will not be impacted by uninstalling/freezing.

I force stopped it, because I still got notifications like: ⚠️FactoryTest Payments Theres a virus in your wallet. So I decided to force stop it. When I did it, the notification disappeared, and desktop app called Payments disappeared too, but for like minute on my desktop disappeared that dots showing how many pages of apps do I have. I don't really want to delete it, but I think it's virus/adware created by Google, and it's safe to kill it.

Factory test just gives you benchmarks. No need or way to delete it. It won't affect your phone.
