Root What is it root?

Root allows you to remove system apps that you don't want. Ie timescapee mediascape ect. And allows you to install root specific apps like titanium backup. You don't need to install new firmware but if you decide you want to. You will need to be rooted first.
Also you can restore back to stock by using seus
Hope this helps.

well I read lot of guides here but I want it clearly I will root my X10 but after I will do it I need to install firmware? and if yes what is it? if something would go wrong can I restore easily? thanks :)

Root is a Linux term which basically means you are a superuser or have administrator privileges on the phone, i.e., you have complete control over the system (apart from the bootloader on the X10).

If you root your phone, you won't have to re-install the firmware as it makes no changes to your system other than changing the permissions to the system settings, apps, etc.

Always, ALWAYS, make a backup before you attempt to change anything that alters the sytem in a 'major' way (i.e., install theme, new firmware, etc.). That way if something should go wrong, you can simply restore that backup and you're back to where you left off before the attempt and don't have to start from scratch. Otherwise, you will have to use SEUS or PC Companion to reinstall the firmware and you are starting from scratch all over again (including having to root the phone again).

Hope this helps!

ROOT is an underground organ that lacks buds or leaves or nodes, absorbs water and mineral salts, usually it anchors the plant to the ground, :D
