Root What is the best custom rom for my Wildfire S ?

I've just rooted my phone and I wanted to know about ROMs.
I read about Cyanogenmod, but it's not in the ROMs Forum ?
Where can I find features of different ROMs and what is the best one ?

Thanks,
So do you think Cyanogenmod is the best rom ? And why isn't it in
And is it safe ? (I'm a little worried of the word 'unofficial')
The second link is the same as the first.

"Best" is determined by your personal needs for the phone. In my opinion, CM7 is currently the best free non-HTC Sense ROM out there. It's fully functional and stable, and much lighter on memory than stock Sense. I learned a lot about Android just by seeing an alternative on the same device.

If you did a backup in recovery, there is no need to worry because you can always revert. The word "unofficial" means that the ROM is not supported by the Cyanogenmod team. They've provided the template but Alquez is responsible for it. But even an "official" Cyanogenmod ROM is truly "unofficial" because it didn't come from HTC.

Also, at the 2nd link above (I fixed it) you'll find several modified Sense ROMs too.

Thanks,
I know CM9 doesn't support Ice Cream Sandwitch yet, so do you recommend installing ICS ? and how ? or just installing CM7 would be better ?
I know I asked you a lot, but I'm really grateful.

I have been keeping an eye on that thread, but sadly CM7 doesn't seem to be compatible with the A510a. I'm stuck with a VMUSA ROM that just isn't compatible.

Kinda sucks, but I'm making it work. I'm trying to cook up a stock de-sensed ROM for MetroPCS users. But I'm kinda more than new at it, so its slow going.

One more thing,
I read that with S-Off I can resize system partition.
So how is it helpful? and what is the data partition used for ? And what does it differ from installing Link2SD ?

Go ahead and ask. That's what forums are for! ;)

CM9 is an ICS ROM, but it's not yet been fully ported to Wildfire S, though it is currently under development. There is no other ICS ROM for Wildfire S available right now, other than not fully functional alphas.

CM7 is a Gingerbread ROM (2.3.7) and the only one available for Wildfire S at the moment, thanks to Alquez's work. The only fully functional ROMs out there for WFS are Gingerbread

Resizing the system partition means re-allocating the 512MB built-in system memory so there is more room (or less, if you want) for apps. It's generally not necessary for most users, especially if you are moving apps to the SD card or linking them.

Link2SD is totally different. It takes apps that would normally reside in system memory under and puts them on the second partition of your SD card. It then links them to the /system/app directory so that system can still find them. Thus, it saves system memory. This isn't necessary for user-installed apps, but for system apps that can't be moved normally to the SD card.

Can anyone help me? I have a wildfire3 510c and I can not find a stable rom. I have tried many. I am rooted with s-off. I am running a miui cm rom right now. I like it but, camera and wifi problems. I can't have that. I need something that everything works.

I like cyanogen 7.1 from Alquez. It's stable and till now I haven't had any problems (it's been about 1 week I have it).
But like CafeKampuchia, it depends on what you prefer. The only reason I changed it because I got tired of Sense. Wanted something different.
I suggest you look at some youtube videos. They show neatly how each rom looks like and feels like.

@Twinels: try this one:
[ROM]Stock 2.3.4, Sense 2.1[Rooted][Apps2sd][Virgin Mobile US]- Only for marvelc 510c - xda-developers
The thing with the Marvelc model is that there aren't really any custon roms as far as I know. The ones that are out there are mainly for Marvel. But looks like the guy in xda did something.

Thank You , I was hoping for a fix to the cm7 I have on it.In the thread om xda it did say that there is a stable version but, the link doesn't work. Then there is one that says it found a working one on another site and that link takes you to japanese site. which may actually be correct link but, I can't read it.
I now have an issue. When I run the flash it says error on sd/ nameofrom.zip I don't know what happened. I can't seem to flash any new roms because of that. I have tried restet and cache clearing. I formatted a new sd card and tried that. I am so fustrated. I don't really want sense either. I can't believe there isn't a custom rom that works. Stupid htc and VM .

oops! Sorry about that!
Can't really help you there since I don't have the 510c. I can't flash it and see what happens. But post your problem in that thread. I'm sure they will be able to help you out since they are the experts.
Hope they can sort your problem out!
