What is the best mainstream camera app?

I'd like to know which camera application for every-day use you prefer. Just for making selfies, grouppics, or just fooling around, etc. I'm currently using Cymera and it's alright. I've also heard of other apps like Candy Camera, Google Camera, and Retrica, but never tried them. My friends advise me to switch to Candy Camera, but I'd like to know you guys opinions first

For every day shots, I kind of like whatever camera app is preinstalled with the phone. No extra layers of complication, and you know that it will work with the camera hardware. (Some third-party apps may occasionally have problems controlling the hardware on some phones.)

That said, some apps do add some extra features and capabilities - so they can often be well worth checking out.

Camera360 that EM mentioned is a good one.

Google Camera is a great alternative to the stock camera, but may not add much of the features you might be after.

Camera FV-5 and Open Camera are two other solid options that add a lot of handy manual controls in case you want to get really fancy. :)

I use Google Camera but I'm a point n shoot kinda guy and the occasional photosphere (killer feature)

Camera360 has a store and a network share of downloads for special effects.

I've not used the former, I have the latter and saw nothing bad over the network.

It seems that if you don't go outside, it's pretty content to just be a camera.

Still, you're right - user beware of all suggestions at all times. :)
