I am learning right now so can anyone tell me what is rooting, flashing, rom, and etc. please? Thanks in advance! :)

Hello and welcome to AF.:) Rooting means when a user acquires administrative or (root) access to the phone giving them complete control over there device. A ROM meaning (read only memory) is now used as a term meaning custom OS (operating system) and flashing means like, installing a ROM to the phone. Here's an example, I flashed a new ROM to my phone meaning I installed a custom ROM to my phone. A ROM is a custom version of android that has been tweaked and modified to where it is very different from the stock ROM or stock OS.

If your ever going to root your device, remember to do your homework before attempting it. The more you know, the more successful you'll be in rooting your device and not bricking it. Bricking is a term used when a phones software has been tampered with to the point where it is no longer functional and in turn assumes the functionality of a brick.

Bricking is a highly unlikely end result of rooting. You have to do some serious messing with files to brick a phone or tablet. Plus, instructions are usually written well, or good enough to follow along and be done before you know it.

But, like MP said, you really do need to read up on the procedure. When I first rooted my phone, I read the instructions 3 times over before I even downloaded what I needed to root. And then I read each step in it's entirety before doing each step.

But once you root your device, I think your going to be very pleased in all the doors that will be opened up to you and do what jerfld did and read the instructions thoroughly before proceeding.
