I have a galaxy 4 at&t carrier - It has been going crazy

I have the same issue as well. Galaxy s4 AT&T. This file in the misc. folder keeps growing....... was over 6 gigs earlier..... deleted it and everything seems fine, but it did recreate itself.....

If anyone has a S4 would you please check and see if you have this file as well. PLEASE....

I have a Galaxy S3 AT&T and had the folder also at around 9 gb. I would love to know what is creating this folder and files. It was thousands of images that it removed that were not part of my photos album.

I just noticed I was low on storage, and found this encore folder, at first it appears empty, but opening it gives me thousands of items, most of them are the same image. It appears to be a trash folder or a backup of some kind. I can't delete the folder itself, but I seem to be able to delete the items when the folder is open. I will further investigate this and post back later when I get credible information.

They are labeled inbox, so my question is where do messages really go when we delete them. I am just gonna ask now and then search later, but is there a file shredding program for android ? Because this Encore folder is a real space killer.

If you use AT&T and you enable the cloud for back up, that is where these files are coming from in the ENCORE folder. Because all of the labels are indicating they were text messages. Check the properties of them and you will see what I am talking about.

I cleared the memory from the AT&T messages app and deleted the Encore folder and my phone's performance went from terrible to great. My battery life was down to about 2 hours and now I'm back to around 8. It really pisses me off that there is no way for me to delete this app. I talked to an AT&T tech support agent and they said that they removed the feature and for me to reset for at least 30 seconds and it should be removed but that hasn't happened yet. I was ready to get rid of my phone but once I fixed this I feel like I have a new phone.

This problem has been the same for me as well. I finally stumbled onto the Encore folder loaded up and that lead me to google the issue and wind up were.

The folder does repopulate after deleted and seems to add at least 800 files a day.

I believe the issue is related to the update AT&T gave us Samsung users that were awaiting the latest Jellybean update.

I plan to waste about an hour of my life today calling tech support and see if I can get the issue resolved.

I do like the App itself for the visual voicemail and ability to save and forward messages.

Over two hours pretty much wasted. AT&T couldn't pass me off fast enough to Samsung.

Bottom line is AT&T botched something up in there pre 4.3 release and it messes with the AT&T message app.

I do like the app and hope it is fixed with 4.3 release in a few weeks.

Uninstalled 2.13.6.7 version of AT&T message, rendering the app useless but it did solve the issue. Not a fix in my opinion but saves on the memory and battery issue.
