Root What is the exact step to move apps from internal memory to sd card using root explorer?

Hi there! I have problem using root explorer to move the apps from internal memory to sd card. I have rooted my X10i and used root explorer to move my apps from /data/app to /sdcard but the app just disappear from my application menu.. Am i missing out some important steps

Which Rom are you using ? Are you on 2.2 ?

You can't do this unless you are on 2.2 I'm afraid.

If you are, download 'apps2sd' from market and it'll take you through the steps it itself.

No, Eminence is only for the .204 ROM (2.1.49 baseband, I think). You could just install ResMods 1.8 and it would look/function pretty much the same as the Eminence ROM.

and look at post 993 for the download links. Just follow the instructions on the first page of the ResMods thread for how to install (you need to use xRecovery to do so).

It doesn't come with JIT but you can install JIT easily enough yourself using xRecovery. Download it and follow the instructions from here:

JIT Enabler v2 | Optimized | ~33k Linpack score | for xRecovery - xda-developers

There is a way to get Apps2SD to work on 2.1 but I'm not sure of the procedure. It is a function of 2.2 though. You should be able to find a guide on how to get it working on XDA though.

Anyway, ResMods is a theme for your ROM it doesn't add any functionality that isn't present in the ROM you are using (other than adding a Reboot option in the Power menu).

opps... i stuck at SE startup logo after installing JIT.. what should i do now?? Any can help??

If you made a backup with xRecovery before installing JIT, restore that and then try installing it again. If you didn't make a backup, then you might have to repair with SEUS and start again from scratch.

by the way, the Res Mods 1.8 I downloaded cant work.. when i installed it using xRecovery, it stated [installation aborted]..

Yes, you can delete the zip files from the SD card but you may want to keep them on there if you want to reinstall anything. It's up to you.

I would suggest trying to reinstall ResMods 1.8 again (possibly from a fresh download of the zip file). It installed fine for me the first time around.

To change/uninstall a theme, you can either just install over it or restore the backup you made before trying to install that theme. If you didn't make a backup, you will have to reflash your firmware and start from scratch again.

Making backups before installing ANYTHING using xRecovery is essential and will really make all of this stuff less of a headache since you won't have to start from scratch every time you want to go back to a previous setting.

You're welcome! And that is hilarious!!

Anyway, in the end there is no real difference because the end result is the same, it's just that xRecovery is a MUCH easier and more convenient way of installing themes since you just need to select Install custom zip in the menu and it does the rest.

With Chewitt's installer, there was a bit more......user interaction in the installation process, which is fine but it requires you to have a bit of an understanding of Linux coding (not much but a little) to follow the instructions and circumvent any issues you may encounter. It was still pretty easy but just required a bit more of the user (not a bad thing, just not as easy as xRecovery).

I'm sure I didn't explain the difference very well but that's basically what it boils down to. Hope this helps with your question. If you require further clarification, I'll try to do so but I'm sure there are other people on here that are better suited to do so as I'm sort of new to this stuff myself.
