What is this app "Wi-fi Tips"?

After the latest system update from Verizon, my Note 8 has started displaying an error message, "Wi-Fi Tips keeps stopping". I did not install this app. It does not show up on my Apps screen. In Settings/Apps, it appears in the list, but it cannot be force stopped. There is no option to uninstall it. It says "App downloaded from Galaxy Store", but I cannot find that app in that store.

This app which you speak of is part of the operating system, which cannot be uninstalled. If you go to the Wi-Fi settings it may be disabled from there.

Thank you, Danny ! While you're probably right about it being a part of the OS, I cannot find any way in the Wi-Fi settings to disable it. Or, for that matter, in the Developer settings. I'm still getting the annoying error pop-up.

put it in safe mode and see if it is still popping up. if it still does then i would do a factory reset. it could have been either a bad download or bad install of the update.....it happens from time to time which is why i always recommend you back everything up before updating the phone.

You could try deleting the data of the app called Wi-Fi Tips.

A restart of the device afterwards wouldn't hurt either.

I finally fixed this by opening up the app info on Wi-Fi Tips and removing all updates, reverting to the original version. Hope that helps someone else with the problem.

I solved this problem by uninstalling over 100 apps that I didn't really use. It may sound preposterous but it worked.
