Help What is this icon?

Hi folks,

Had this icon show up today in the notification area on my N5. Any idea what it is? I was using data just fine while it was on, so I don't think it's related to connectivity (note I have LTE in the screen cap I've included).

I tried Googling it and didn't find anything helpful.

It means you have your notifications set to "none".

Hmmmm, that does seem related to some kind of signal, can you make phone calls?

Oh well duh....I went into a meeting and set notifications to none and completely forgot. Just set it back to all and the "mystery" circle is gone.

This a great example for my contention that you should be able to enable a setting that would show screen pop-up info about any setting or icon. Sort of like the "?" in icon in Windows or also in Windows, how many developers allow you to mouse on top of a control and see that screen help pop-up.

Hmmmm, that does seem related to some kind of signal, can you make phone calls?

Its a part of the new notification system in lollipop. You can now select which notifications go through (all, priority or none) and that icon is visible when "none" is selected.

Priority has a little star instead
