What is this lock screen that has suddenly appeared?

So today I got a new lock screen, which comes before my usual Samsung pin lock screen. It doesn't always come when I try to unlock my phone either. Is it with an update or is it an app anyone recognises? I haven't added any new apps recently.. Pic included.

This is a really annoying 'feature' of Marshmallow and no amount of fiddling with settings can remove it on vanilla Android, so you're lucky if your non-standard Android has an option for this.

The stupid thing is, you can enable location based Smart Lock, at work for example, and then one swipe fully unlocks the device whilst at this location, completely bypassing your security method. This is great to get around this stupid, extra lock screen, but you're actually making your device more vulnerable, as anyone can access it at that location if they steal it.

All we need is an option in base Android to remove this extra lock screen for those of us that don't want it.

Erm, the lock screen people are discussing here isn't part of standard Android, it's added by a third party app. So removing the app deals with it.

If the app was pre-installed (so something done by the manufacturer or carrier, not part of Android) then disable it, or uninstall updates to it (which will revert to an older version, probably without this feature) and turn off automatic updates.
