Hello RitamPatra.

TouchWiz is the stock "launcher" on many Android devices. The launcher is what actually interfaces the operating system with the user, and contains the menu paths and screen customization choices, etc.

Some users aren't satisfied with the stock launcher on their device, so they install 3rd party launchers such as Go Launcher, Launcher Pro and many others available via Android Market, some free and some paid versions.

Explore around Android Market using their search feature on "launcher" and you'll see what I mean. Lots of themes, icons, etc.

android has its own stock User Interface (UI)..

but there are many manufactures of android phones.. and they do not want to all look a like. they want to look unique . so they put their own custom designed UI on top of android... to look different.

Samsung has Touchwiz
htc has Sense
Moto has blur
etc...

depending on your needs and wants from the phone... which UI, you might like

Thank u very much for making this clear to me :D.....In another post I have asked that what is ROM ??...Why it is use ??...IT's still not clear to me
Can you explain it...Thank you

ROM is used on ROOTed phones..

root-ing a phone - getting access to the ROOT directory of your device. the carrier locks you from the root directory.. so that you can not see all the other parts of the software (file system). that way you can not change anything.

ROM - is a re-packaged OS (android). a developer (Dev) will take the OS.. and change it.. small and large ways.. tweak it... add some theme (colors and look).. this is a custom ROM.

you can read on all the different custom ROMs in the Dev's thread of that ROM. if you like what you see.. and want to try it out.. you have to FLASH that ROM to your device.

Flashing is similar to installing.. but it lays the new ROM .. right on top of the old OS.. totally replacing it...

these things.. are not really needed to know .. till you are more comfortable with the stock OS.. and then when you find a good reason for YOU to root.

Yes ...I am getting it a bit ...Now what is a re-packaged OS :D....and How is the size 2GB related to...I read somewhere that it holds the OS and other System files which I cannot change...I mean How 2GB is related to all these
If in case, there be 1GB of ROM or more than 2GB then what would be the advantage or disadvantage

I know that the OS requires a space....Is this space is consumed from the initial 16 GB of internal memory ??...
My SGS shows four memories
1.Program --This holds 1.87 GB
2.Personal Dtat --This holds 127 MB
3.Internal SD card--This holds 13.43GB
4.External SD card--This holds 0.93GB
I think the Program (1.87GB) is actually the ROM

AM I RIGHT??....If I am right then I have got it
