What is VZW replacing the Commando with?

So my son has a Commando and it is starting to have lots of weird problems, battery level jumps (almost full to 0%) around and boot loops, sometimes won't charge or turn on... Tried factory defaulting, same results.

He has the Verizon Total Equipment Protection warranty, but I am curious, anybody get a replacement recently? What are they replacing the Commando with, the Commando 4G or something else?

They probably have enough refurbs to replace it with the same phone. They usually do, even after a model is discontinued.

Eh, sometimes... When my Incredible 2 died they still had it on the website and they gave me a Rezound because they didn't have anymore, new or refurbished, and when my other son's Incredible 2 dies about 6 months ago they gave him a new DNA.

Either way, he will likely be getting a "new" phone ordered tonight since he still has 4 months left before he can get a new one, was just hoping someone had done this recently and had first hand knowledge.

Turns out we didn't have TEC on this phone, had it on every other one on the account... Got in an argument with VZW rep and threatened to pay off ETF on this phone (3-1/2 months) and get a Moto G off contract and switch to Go Phone so they let us get an early upgrade on this phone with contract renewal... Guess he will have to deal with an LG G2 for the next 2 years, $99 with a $50 rebate. He's happy.
