I use the Netflix app quite regularly. Will this kill the battery? Streaming 1 HD show (45 minutes) drains it about 15%. How damaging will this be over time?

While I don't use Netflix on my phone, my wife streams a lot of video on her phones and has never noticed a problem. Obviously it'll eat at battery life, but you can always recharge it. Sealed batteries will take at least a couple years before you really start seeing it start to degrade.
 
Is there a certain percentage i should wait until the battery gets to before charging? Is it ok to charge when it hits 40% consistently, or will that untrain the battery and effect its life?
 
The longest life, by measurement (see Battery University) is recharging at the 50% point. 40% is close enough. It has absolutely nothing do do with any memory effect (which, chemically, isn't possible with Lithium batteries).
 
I charge it whenever. I change phones every year so i don't worry too much about long term effect. Ideally you don't want to be constantly draining the battery all the way down. But if it happens from time to time it is no big deal.
 
I'm not convinced that anyone actually knows the answer to your question. Lithium batteries are life rated by charge/discharge cycles. I try to charge my phone when it hits 50% and don't leave it on the charger overnight if it's charged.
 
From the standpoint of the device's battery experiencing higher temps, possibly, depending on the particular usage scenario. You get heating when charging, and during use.

Probably the highest temps you are going to experience is during the use of Navigation with GPS with screen on, while streaming audio via BT from Pandora or TuneIn or other to a car stereo. Then the only radio ckt idle will be for WiFi. :D
 
To charge the G2 a lot? I've been watching a lot of Netflix on my phone, so every 5 hours i charge it. Usually when i hit 40% I'll charge it. Already did it twice today.

Is torrenting bad for the battery? I used to have a Lucid and i did a ton of torrenting. My battery was shot. I have a G2 now and i'm afraid to torrent. I download a lot of tv shows
