Root what should i do from here?

I got tired it all the troubles and BS that jb has been giving me. So I went into cwm. full wipe and restored v6 stock no root and the matching stock recovery. now my phone says I'm on v7 but 2.3.6. update fails every time. any ideas? I tried the cab method but it didn't work right

You need to restore stock recovery to take the ota

I flashed the stock v6 recovery right after restoring the v6 nandroid. ill give that a try as soon as this laptop finishes updating

hi bones, haven't spoken to you in a while, I hope all is well. About your problem...

I think your issue is that you still have the v7 baseband. You have to either use the cab method to restore v6 or try flashing the v6 baseband.

If I'm wrong about this I hope someone more advanced will correct me, but I think that is your issue.

I know when the v7 update first came out I used cwm to flash back to v6 and it showed me having v7 still and I think neph told me that using cwm to flash back doesn't overwrite the partition that stores the baseband files and that is why the build still shows as being v7.

I eventually got the updater that downloads on the pc when plugged in to work. Took 5 tries. Im finally back to v8 stock with a locked bootloader. And will probably stay that way until something comes along that excites me. Everything has gotten boring to me. Except pacman. But battery life and charging rate for me arent even worth it. And i wouldnt feel comfortable selling this thing with unlocked bootloader. This particular spectrum is weird about what you do with it
