What should I do to "clear" my phone in preparation for a new phone?

I should be getting my new Evo LTE tomorrow, so I'm wondering what all I need to do to clear my current Evo (the original) so no personal information is left behind.

I plan to uninstall all apps and then format/remove my SD card, but how do I fully disconnect my Google account, or do anything else I might not be thinking of?

Also, once this phone is deactivated, am I still able to use it with WiFi, or does that stop working too?

Thanks.

Do a factory data reset and you should be good to go. Make sure the sd card has been wiped clean and reformatted. The data on the phone will still work with wifi even if the phone service is deactivated. Good luck with your new phone, I'm pretty happy with my LTEvo.

Thanks! I've been ready to buy it for a while, and when I saw that Amazon had it for $99, I couldn't resist anymore. :)

Can't wait to play with it tomorrow!

One more thing: how do I format my SD card? The option to "erase" it is grayed out under my SD card settings. Do I need to unmount it first? Or do I format once it's already installed in the new phone?
